Extol of Ohio Breaks Ground on Norwalk Expansion

NORWALK, OH — Extol of Ohio, Inc. has broken ground on a $6 million expansion of its manufacturing facility in Norwalk, Ohio. The project will add approximately 67,500 square feet and is expected to create 35 new jobs while retaining 90 existing positions.

Founded in 1985, Extol specializes in custom-fabricated industrial insulation systems and has grown significantly over the past four decades, with operations now substantially larger than when the company first established its presence in Norwalk.

“Extol of Ohio is grateful to our employees for their relentless care of our expanding customer base, affording us this opportunity to invest in our future by expanding our Norwalk factory for the fourth time,” said Robin DeGraff, Owner of Extol of Ohio, Inc. “The new space and state-of-the-art equipment ensure our ability to compete nationally and globally for years to come.”

Several partners supported the project, including Huron County Growth Partnership, Civista Bank, the City of Norwalk, and Team NEO.

The Erie County Port Authority, administered by Greater Sandusky Partnership, supported the expansion through a capital lease, providing an estimated $167,000 in project savings. A capital lease allows companies to reduce costs on eligible construction materials, helping lower overall project costs and support investment in facilities and equipment.

Projects like this support the broader regional economy, where businesses and talent regularly cross county lines.
