In honor of International Economic Development Council’s Economic Development Week 2026 and its centennial anniversary, we are highlighting legacy companies who have decided the next century of success is right here in Greater Sandusky.
Founded in 1955 (with roots dating back to 1905!), Growers Mineral Solutions continues to build on its history while investing in modern facilities to support future growth. The company produces specialized liquid mineral supplements for agriculture, supporting soil health and crop production for farmers across the country.
The company has announced a nearly $9 million expansion, expected to support 18 jobs created or retained in the region.
This project is supported through a combination of tools, including a U.S. Department of Agriculture grant, the use of a capital lease through the Erie County Port Authority, an Ohio Department of Development loan, and a JobsOhio Small Business Grant in coordination with Team NEO. Greater Sandusky Partnership worked with the company to identify and navigate these incentives and resources.
Growers Mineral Solutions reflects how legacy companies continue to invest and contribute to a strong regional economy. And, projects like this show how economic development works – bringing together tools, funding, and partnerships to help businesses invest, grow, and create jobs.
